my doll collection! ive been collecting dolls for a few years now! i get them all from second hand stores, so i dont tend to know who the designers or manufacturers are or how old they are, sorry! my favorite things to find in a doll are removable hats, unchipped face, and something unique! these r all optional though, you cant create rules for love <3 and i love all my dolls! i started collecting because my dad hates dolls (they scare him) and i was feeling a bit spiteful, but it has moved for beyond that and i now collect just because i love it! click any of the images to see a small biography about that doll! they are ordered approximately in the order that i got them, but im not 100% on that so its just an estimation!

josephine is the first doll i love her a lot and credit her with giving me the passion to keep collecting :-) my favorite things about her are her dress design (the top and sleeves especially), her stockings (which are lace!), and her hair (really well defined ringlets that arent very tangeled)! her hat is unfortunately not removable, but that makes sense, because if it was it definitely wouldnt stay balanced.
the beads on her dress need to be resewn, but other than that shes in fantastic condition!

dolls!!

ethel was given to me by my mother when i expressed an interest in collecting! she was my mothers when she was a kid, and was also named "cordelia", but i didnt know that and renamed her. her hair is tied in a braid behind her back because it was so tangled when she was given to me :-( one day i might try and sort it out but im hesitant because im not quite sure how to handle doll hair. my favourite things about her are her face (a great round shape and i love that they left her so pale, it really makes her dark hair and eyes pop!), her bonnet (its removable!), and her outfit (love how cohesive and simple it is! because it doesnt have any wires or hoops it makes her very nice and comfortable to hold)!

dolls!!

abigail is one of the more unique dolls i have! i fell in love with her as soon as i saw her, shes just so lovely! her head and limbs are plastic, which makes her lighter than most of my other dolls. my favorite things about her are her paws (not pictured, but she does have toe beans!) and her concept (i am furry yeah. i love anthropomorphic animals in little outfits)! she has a bit of dirt on her face that was there when i got her, and i would love to clean it but im a bit nervous because i have very shaky hands and the dirt is very close to her painted nose, which i dont want to wipe away.

dolls!!

ramona was the first doll i got who was elaborate. shes really fancy, at least by my standards. her hat is unfortunately not removable and is glued to her hair, but i understand why because theres no way it would stay on otherwise. my favorite things about her are her dress (insanely elaborate: its multilayered and covered in lace and look at those sleeves!), her expression (she looks wonderfully stern), and her necklace (i love when dolls have jewellery)!

dolls!!

louis is another doll who i feel in love with right away. first of all, i love clowns. and other than that, id never seen a doll with face paint like this! if its not clear enough in the photo, he has flowers painted on his cheeks and its beautiful. his hat is removable, but perhaps too much. it will not stay on his head: the strap is way too big to put around his chin, and it is flat at the bottom so it cant fit around his head. in this photo it is very precariously balanced on his head with the strap twisted around about four times. definitely not sustainable, and normally i display him with his hat at his feet. my favorite things about him are his face paint and his hair (the short ringlets are lovely)!

dolls!!

vanessa stood out to me for a few reasons when i saw her. she was the first doll id seen so far who wasnt white, and she still had her box. because of this, i know that she is a 2000 special edition doll by vanessa ricardi, which i named her after. her hat/headband is not removable which is a shame because even as the roses come loose, the glue does not, and remains stuck in her hair. my favorite things about her are her expression (she has larger eyes than most of my dolls, and they make her look kind) and her dress (one of the more elaborate dresses, and i love pastel pink)! however, shes not perfect, likely due to me getting her second hand. her hoop skirt is bend at some very obvious angles, and is way too short for her dress, which makes her look a bit weird. her legs are also crossed, im guessing because that is how her previous owner positioned her in the box and she got stuck like that. because her legs lie at an awkward angle, she is perpetually leaning forward, as you can kind of see in the photo. luckily, i have her displayed on a shelf above my desk, so her looking down is ideal and makes it so i can actually see her face!

dolls!!

virgina has the most unique dress out of my dolls that wear dresses. its a different fabric, a different silhouette, and a darker color. it gives her a very sophisticated vibe! her hat/headband is unfortunately not removable. my favorite things about her are her dress (it has no wires or hoops and is fairly soft, so shes great to hold), her hair (her updo looks great and its not often i see fancy dolls like her without their hair down), and her earrings (love jewellery on dolls and earrings are just such a step above and beyond)! also, you cant see it in this photo, but the back of her dress has a lovely floral pattern in a different fabric that i just love.

dolls!!

if i were to rank them, id say that dierdra has the fanciest outfit out of all my dolls. the dress is multilayered and uses lots of different types of ribbon and lace, and just look at the shape of those sleeves! and the hat! not only is it removable, but it fits to her head so well that when i first got her i thought it must be clipped! my favorite things about her are her hat (its not only removable but gorgeous!), her hair (dont have any other ginger dolls!) and her expression (shes smiling)! this picture makes her dress look white, but id describe it as more of a very light green in person, which looks great.

dolls!!

rongo bongo is my most unique doll. shes made of different materials, has a different shape (significantly smaller than the others), has a prop instead of a stand, and was much more expensive than the others. most of my dolls i got for around $5-10 at value village. rongo bongo was about $50 from a small antique store. apparently she belonged to the guys grandma, making her probably my oldest doll as well. i originally went to the antique store with the intent of purchasing a different clown doll that my mother had told me about, but i saw rongo bongo and fell in love instantly. her hat is not removable, but i understand that given the angle she sits at. my favorite things about her are her unicycle stand (cute and creative! and the wheel actually turns), her makeup (classic and really works for her), and how much she scares my dad! she is displayed on my bookshelf and sits in between my frankenstein collection and my other gothic lit books.

dolls!!

i picked out barnaby for my eighteenth birthday, and im so glad i found them! ive been looking for more classic clown dolls, and they sure a clown! they are missing a bell on the right side of their hat, but luckily i found the bell and plan to glue it back on soon. its not clear in this photo, but their outfit is floral patterned, and it looks wonderful. my favorite thing about barnaby is their makeup, which is golden and looks so amazing. their name was chosen by my friend sirius (who picked barnaby) and my sibling (who picked balcony).

angel is a tiny little guy i got for $3 along with two other small dolls, which i dismembered and made into earrings. but angel survived and i love him deeply. a very sweet mischievous little guy with a delightful color palette. his body is shaped like a little star and he really is!

when i found sabrina she was still new in her box, zip tied and everything, but the box was quite beat up. still, i'm able to glean from it that she is from the sabrina collection by sabrina carrera (which i named her after) from 1998, making her two years older than vanessa! because she had never been taken out of the box before she was in amazing condition. she still had a hair net over her face and because of that her hair wonderfully soft and her curls are perfectly defined. unlike a lot of my other dolls she seems dressed more for a walk in the park than a ball. she a coat, umbrella, and bonnet, which is removable. her stand is also wood, not metal or plastic, which is a lovely touch.
